The Gorton Neighbourhood Warden Service was launched successfully on the 27th April when over 80 people who live and work in Gorton gathered at the Holiday Inn Express, Debdale Park.
The wardens have now completed their four week induction programme and were presented with certificates to mark this event by Superintendent John Brinnand of Longsight Police Station.
Gerald Kaufman MP also spoke to express his support for the service which will hopefully increase peoples' confidence, improve the quality of the environment and reduce the fear of crime across Gorton.
Resident groups were also represented from all corners of Gorton and the number of people who attended speaks loud about the interest in how the Neighbourhood Warden
Service can improve life for the peopls of Gorton.
